Rosmel's Mariah

In August of 1998 I came across the Rosmel Pony Farm's website. I had always admired their ponies and was enthralled by the number of ponies they had available for sale. So within the week, I was on my way to Houston. I think I looked at two hundred ponies over the next three days. They had a beautiful large bay mare that I would have bought in a heart beat f I could have afforded her. But I admired her from afar and moved on. I narrowed my search down to about 15 ponies and then began riding them. Let's just say that one of them wanted to come with me. I truly believe that you should know if a pony is right for you. I just didn't feel that spark with pony after pony. I was getting frustrated. Then my dear mother (who loves to spend my money!) suggested that I should at least try the bay mare which I couldn't afford.

Yep, you guessed it. I trotted once
around the ring and said I'll take her. She didn't have that ground
sweeping trot, but what she had was impulsion. She knew how to trot like a
Welsh pony. I liked Maggie so much that I even bought hersister as well.

And so Maggie and three other ponies came home with me from Texas. We showed Maggie for two years. it wasn't really her thing. She did her job, but I think motherhood is suiting her better. Maggie's first foal is due this summer and I think i will finally understand why Maggie was the one pony that I knew had to come home with me from Texas.

Maggie now resides in Montana with Yates Colby at Summit Welsh. here is her 2004 colt by Bristol Sereno. His name is Summit's like A Rock or "Chevy" for short.
